MareCalmo is a free informational service that shows marine weather forecasts for beaches (sea state, wind, water temperature, UV index, and chance of rain) and suggests the spots best suited to the activity you choose.

3. Nature of the information and limits

The data comes from third-party weather models and may contain inaccuracies, delays, or errors. MareCalmo is provided "as is", without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or continuity of service.

4. User responsibility

• Decisions about when and where to swim, sail, or do activities at sea remain solely yours.
• Always check the actual conditions and follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
• Do not use the service as the only source for activities that involve risks to safety.

To the extent permitted by law, MareCalmo and its author are not liable for damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the service or the information contained in it.

User account (optional)

You can create, free of charge, an optional user account to sync your favourites and preferences across your devices; the app stays fully usable even without an account. Sign-in is passwordless (a secure link sent by email) or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your email inbox confidential and for the use of the account. To create an account you must be at least 14 years old (or the minimum age set in your country). Do not use the account in an abusive or unlawful way: we may suspend or delete it in the event of abuse or for security reasons. At any time, from the Account section of the app, you can delete the account or clear your data while keeping the account; the linked data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Advertising and affiliate links

The free service is supported by advertising (display ads served by Google AdSense), by affiliate tools (such as GetYourGuide) and by the paid sponsorships of Business area businesses. For details about cookies and data processing, see the Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy.

6. Business area: free listing and sponsorships

In addition to the free browsing service, MareCalmo offers coastal businesses (lidos, car parks, rentals, schools, restaurants, etc.) the possibility to publish their own listing free of charge and to purchase, if they wish, paid sponsorships. The conditions in this section apply only to the businesses that register.

6.1 Recipients (professional customers)

The business area is reserved for professionals, companies, and business owners acting within the scope of their own economic activity. It is not aimed at consumers: as a result, the right of withdrawal provided by the Consumer Code for distance contracts with consumers does not apply. By registering, you declare that you act as a professional.

6.2 Free listing and sponsorships

The business listing is free and includes photos, contacts, opening hours, description, and offers. It is published after content review and ownership verification (see 6.5 and 6.6) and stays online with no expiry, in compliance with these terms. The free listing carries no advertising labels.

Sponsorships are one-off purchases that give extra visibility in the area and for the days you choose, in three formats: your listing highlighted among the area's beaches, a text note, or a banner in the beach profiles. Sponsored content is always labelled as "Promoted" and does not alter the marine weather suggestions ("Where shall I go today?").

6.3 Sponsorship prices and payment

The price of a sponsorship depends on the format, the geographic coverage (administrative area or kilometre radius) and the number of days, according to the price list shown in the panel: the total amount is always displayed before purchase and is what you pay, once. A minimum spend per campaign applies. Payment is handled by PayPal. There is no automatic renewal: when it expires, the sponsorship ends, with no further charges. Prices include VAT where applicable.

6.4 Voluntary suspension and refunds

Sponsorships are one-off, non-recurring purchases. You can suspend and reactivate publication yourself from the panel, at any time before the expiry date. Suspension immediately stops the visibility as "Promoted" but does not extend the purchased duration: the days during which the promotion stays suspended are not recovered and give no right to refunds or extensions. Amounts already paid are non-refundable, except where required by mandatory provisions of law.

6.5 Owner obligations and content

By registering a business and publishing content, you represent and warrant that:

• you are the owner of the business or are authorised to represent it;
• the data and content you enter are truthful, up to date, and lawful;
• you hold the rights to the photos and materials you upload and do not infringe trademarks, copyrights, or third-party rights;
• you do not publish misleading, offensive, illegal, or irrelevant content.

In addition:

• to publish a listing linked to a point on the map, you upload a document proving ownership of the point or authorisation to manage it (e.g. company registration extract, VAT attribution, owner's mandate);
• if you purchase a sponsorship, you provide a valid VAT number and the tax details needed to issue the invoice, and you authorise us to verify and complete them by consulting the public business registers through a third-party provider.

You are solely responsible for the content you publish. You hold us harmless from third-party claims arising from content you have uploaded in breach of the above.

6.6 Moderation, rejection, and suspension

Every listing, offer, and sponsorship is subject to prior review before publication: we may approve, reject (stating the reason), or request changes. We may suspend or remove content or the entire account, even without notice, in the event of a breach of these terms, unlawful content, or well-founded third-party reports. Removal for a breach does not give rise to any refund.

A listing linked to a point on the map goes online only after approval of both the content and the ownership verification (document): until then the point's changes are not public. If ownership cannot be verified and the issue cannot be remedied, the listing is not published.

If a sponsorship is not approved, you can correct it and resubmit it for review from the panel: the payment remains valid.

6.7 Service availability

We strive to keep the service running but do not guarantee absolute continuity: maintenance, technical failures, or force majeure may lead to temporary interruptions, which do not give rise to refunds except for prolonged unavailability attributable to us.

7. Intellectual property

The marine weather data comes from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0) and the mapping from OpenStreetMap, whose respective licences must be respected. The processing, the interface, and the original texts of MareCalmo belong to its author.

Photos submitted by users

In the app you can submit photos of the sea taken on the spot ("Sea photos"). By submitting them you declare that you are their author and that they were taken at the indicated location, and you grant MareCalmo a free, non-exclusive, worldwide and perpetual licence to use, reproduce, adapt and publish them in the app and in the service's communication and promotional activities, including social media channels. Photos must not show recognisable people: images with recognisable faces are not published.

Every photo goes online after a review and we may remove it at any time. You can withdraw your own photo from the app yourself; the licence remains valid for uses already under way. Published photos may remain visible even after the account is deleted. File metadata (GPS location, device data) is removed before publication. To report a photo or request its removal write to info@marecalmo.app.

If you have set a public name in your account, it is shown next to your published photos together with your level; you can remove it at any time and the attribution disappears immediately from all photos. The public name must not impersonate other people or businesses, nor contain third-party data, contact details, links or offensive expressions: we may remove names that break these rules at any time and, in serious cases, suspend the account. After the account is deleted, photos remain published without any attribution. Some app features (for example the archive of older photos) unlock based on the level earned by using the service.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. For disputes with business customers (professionals), the Court of Rome has exclusive jurisdiction. Any mandatory protections provided by law remain unaffected.

9. Changes

We may update these terms over time. For material changes to the conditions of the Business area, we will give notice by email to registered businesses. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
