The coast between Ostuni and Torre Canne

From Torre Canne to Il Pilone run kilometres of sandy beach with dunes and freshwater springs, while a little further north the Torre Guaceto Reserve protects dunes, wetlands and a crystal-clear sea. Among the rocky inlets, Torre Pozzelle stands out, with its little coves between Mediterranean scrub and pinewood. This is the area best suited to families, thanks to its shallow, calm water.

Here too the coast faces east: with the offshore winds — maestrale (mistral) and ponente — the shallow sandy seabed stays calm and clear, ideal with children. With sirocco or tramontana, on the other hand, waves build up quickly on the open beach: on those days it is best to look for a more sheltered stretch or to cross over to the Ionian side.
